According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, women comprise only 20% of the workforce in the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) sector. In response, the second cohort of the TechUpRuralGirls (TURG) initiative aims to empower 30 vulnerable young girls by equipping them with essential 21st-century digital and employability skills, thereby enhancing their participation in digital careers. This project targets young female high school graduates, aged 13–23, from rural communities in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria
We are seeking passionate and skilled facilitators with expertise in digital and innovative technologies, such as web development, digital marketing, social media management, photography, graphic design, and other related fields. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in their respective areas, with a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor others.
We are particularly looking for individuals who are eager to give back to their communities by supporting the next generation of talent. Facilitators will play a key role in empowering young girls with practical, 21st-century skills that can open doors to careers in the digital economy.
Experience in teaching or mentoring is highly valued, and a commitment to fostering growth and creativity in under-represented communities is essential.
